Foldover Clutch #21 - Indigo Dyed Stitch Resist
This design was made by stitching lines and “dots” into the fabric and dipping the two canvas squares into an indigo dye vat. The stitching left behind unexpected shadows that look almost like leaves. Silver nickel zipper.
This is a one-of-a-kind foldover clutch purse from my 2020 Fall Collection. For this project, my goal was to create a series of completely unique hand-painted and hand-dyed pieces. Each purse began with two squares of blank canvas that were altered side by side, matching but still unique. The outer fabric is a high-quality 100% natural cotton canvas coupled with genuine sheep skin leather. The purse is lined in black cotton canvas with a sturdy metal YKK zipper and sheep skin zipper pull. All materials are made and sourced in the USA.
These purses can be dressed up or down and the varied artwork provides something for every woman’s style. Treat yourself or a friend to something special this holiday season!
Measures approximately 9.75” x 6.5” folded and 9.75” x 10.5” flat. I’ve included photos of both sides of each purse, folded and flat, so you can see the variations in the artwork. You choose to fold it whichever way you like best!
